Become an SSI Navigation Specialty Diver

In this specialty program, you will gain the advanced skills and knowledge you need to safely and confidently navigate underwater.
You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, how to leave and return to a designated point, plus basic navigation patterns. You will also be taught how to combine navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All of which hones your underwater observation skills, improves your dive safety and helps you to get the most out of every dive. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

Amount of Academic Sessions – 5

Amount of Open Water Sessions – 2

Maximum Training Depth – 30m / 130ft

Suggested duration in hours – 5-10

Minimum dives for certification – 7

Please be advised we will do our best to accommodate your preferred start day for your course however we do ask you to be flexible as we need to schedule your course around our other activities in the shop calendar. 

If your course is running over multiple days, we usually try to schedule consecutive days for your training. However we need to take into account the shop calendar and crew days off. If there are specific days you would like to have off from training please let us know in advance and we will do our best to arrange your preferred dates.
